Maid Introduction

Siti is 46 years old, married with 1 child, Indonesian. She speak English well

2005-2007: She has completed 2 years contract with a Chinese family living in a condo. She was taking care of newborn (twins) and did cooking and general housekeeping.

2008-2015: She worked 7 years with a Chinese family living in a condo. She is taking care of a newborn and a 2 years old child. Her household duties include grocery shopping and general housekeeping. Employer's reference: Siti Khoiriyah has truly been a gem for my family. She has been with our family for 7 years, the longest period I have ever retained a domestic helper. She was initially hired to take care of my second baby (my elder boy was under the care of another helper). However, after the other helper returned home, Siti was a fast learner and she single-handedly helped me raise both children, while both myself and wife have our own demanding careers. In addition to taking care of my young sons (then, aged 1 and 4), she also takes care of everything related to the household, cleanliness and she also cooks two meals a day. We also entrust her to do our weekly marketing at NTUC, after guiding her a few trips on what are our various type of food items which are suitable for my family. She is an honest person with a kind heart and she would put herself in your shoes, given the knowledge she has. She even helps us save money by comparing the prices of items or buy the item that is on promotion ! Over the seven years, she had never once complaint about anything. She is very patient, good natured and respectful to us at all times. And most importantly, she loves my sons, just like her own. And we even brought her to Australia with us when my younger son was 4 years old. We believe that good things happen both ways. We are generous with her (she gets to choose what she wants to eat (be it at home or when we are out at food court or restaurants – but most times she will say “Mom choose for me”). We also supply everything for her including toiletries etc… and we also bought her various items that we thought may be useful for her or her son. As a goodbye gift, we bought an Asus phone for her, with the hope that she can still communicate with my sons via WeChat / Skype when we are in Australia. We hope that she can be given free wifi access at her new employer’s home too. Whenever we go for our holidays (twice a year) we would also ask her if she wants to go back to Surabaya (it’s paid leave, with extra top-up allowance for her food and bus fare from Surabaya to Madiun – all paid for by me). However, most times she prefers to stay in Singapore to save money. And whenever she goes for her off-days, she will return home at the requested time, or if she may be late, she will ask for our consent. In 2014, as we were preparing for our migration, my wife had to reside in Australia for long periods, sometimes extending between 3-4 weeks. As both my children has many tuition classes, piano lessons and swimming lessons to attend, Siti rose to the occasion and single-handedly organised systematically my kids’ tuition and classes attendance, sometimes taking buses or taxis to the respective venues. All my wife had to do was to draft up the time-table of the different lessons for each day before she flies off, and Siti would be able to follow it efficiently. If there are changes to the schedule, my wife would “whatsapp” to her mobile phone to inform of the changes and she would be able to reply in English (though may not be the exact correct spelling, but you will understand it, based on the phonics sound of the words). I am very proud that she managed to pick up and be conversant in the English language over the years. Besides ensuring my kids attend classes, Siti also took meticulous care that both my children would have good meals, drink water and have their daily vitamins etc…. ensuring that they are not hungry before / after tuition, as the tuition can sometimes stretch back-to-back 2-4 hours and report back to me on any incidents / accidents. In summary, I trust Siti completely with my kids, and she has proven to be reliable and a responsible helper, as seen when my wife was away for long periods. Siti would also remind my kids to “Skype” mommy when my wife is overseas. Last but not least, Siti is more than a domestic helper to us. We feel so blessed to have her in our lives for so many years and she is truly part of our family. We will definitely miss her dearly when we migrate to Australia. If we have a choice, we would have taken her along to Australia. We thank her for the wonderful years with us and wish her all the very best and that her new employer will continue to take good care of her and vice versa. As we would already be in Australia by now.

2015-2019: She has worked almost 4 years a British family living in a 2 storey house. She was taking care of 7 months old baby and 2 years old and did cooking, grocery shopping and general housekeeping.

2019-2021: She worked 2 years 7 months with a French family living a 4 storey house. She was taking care of 2 years old and 4 years old child. Her household duties include grocery shopping, cooking and general housekeeping.

2021-2024: Currently she is working Chinese family for 2 and a half years in a condo. She is looking after a baby from 3 months old. She also look after 1 pet cat. Her other chores include cooking, grocery shopping and general housekeeping.
